My name is Sheldon Nunez-Velarde. I am motivated by the time-honored pottery of my late great-great-great grandmother, O'Ha Montoya, whose pottery is very much alive and cherished. Through self-cultural awareness and personal inspiration, I have made profound endeavors in perfecting my work and in educating the public about Jicarilla Apache pottery.

In 2007, Sheldon won 1st place in Micaceous Pottery at the Santa Fe Indian Market. He also recieved the Judge's Choice Award at the Southwest Indian Art Fair from the Arizona State Museum in Tuscon, AZ.
